Points System:
The Angler of the Year title is given to the most dedicated, hard working angler who we think best represents what the Illini Bass Fishing Club represents. The Angler of the Year title is decided primarily by the points leaderboard, but the executive team will make the ultimate decision. The following events and activities will earn a certain number of points to the Angler of the Year standings. At the end of the year, the top three finishers will receive a prize for their efforts.
Point Values:
Collegiate Tournaments:
25 Points for showing up to a collegiate tournament events
Note: For top 50%, top 25%, top 10 boat/individual finishes, only the top point value regarding your placement will be counted and added to your attendance (25 points) and club placement (100 points). Therefore, any given boat or angler may earn a maximum of 275 points per event.
Club Tournaments:
See "Illini Club Tournaments" page under the "Tournaments" tab for information on scoring points for this category
Club Service/Participation:
125 Points for showing up to the High School Tournament
25 Points for showing up to a collegiate tournament events
- These points are for attendance only
- Attendance will be taken at each event
- Bret Vogt Memorial Tournament counts
- There must be at least two boats (team even) or two individuals (solo event)
- All boats/individuals will receive points for competing in the event
- 75 points for second, 50 points for third, 25th for fourth
- If there are more than 4 boats, 25 points will be added per boat
- Boats that do not weigh in any fish will receive the minimum points
- Bret Vogt Memorial Tournament counts
- Major college events only (ACA, BASS, MLF)
- Major college events only (ACA, BASS, MLF)
- Major college events only (ACA, BASS, MLF)

Club Service/Participation:
125 Points for showing up to the High School Tournament
- 50 additional points for helping prior to tournament
- Exec team members only receive 50 Points for service
- Caps at 5 acts, but members are encouraged to continue serving their own and our communities
- Must submit valid proof of an act
- Boat-captaining for High School teams
- Lake clean-up (i.e. trash removal)
- The Executive Board must unanimously agree that the act is valid in order to an act to count for points
- Cross-training events
- Attending tournaments which you are not fishing in to support anglers
- Cook meals, attend weigh-in, take pictures
- Competing anglers will award these points
- Community service acts as a team
- Fishing Expos or Shows
- Must tag @illinifishing in post
- Attendance will be taken by our secretary, Justin, at a random time each meeting
