Bret Vogt Memorial Tournament

Bret was an incredible son, brother, friend, teammate, and fisherman. He was an extremely driven person who would always put his whole heart into every task he was given. Bret was taking engineering classes at the University of Illinois, he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, and also the President of the Illini Bass Fishing Club. Regardless of his demanding schedule, Bret would do anything to help a friend in need always with a smile on his face. His character left a lasting impression on all that he came into contact with. Bret will always be remembered as an amazing person with a heart of gold and he is missed dearly. 

One of his many goals while at the University of Illinois was to create a scholarship and fundraising tournament to help young anglers get through college. We are extremely proud to announce that the Illini Bass Fishing Club and the Vogt Family have proudly accomplished it for him in his honor. This will be a open tournament to all anglers; young and old, amateur and professional, anyone who has the love of fishing just as Bret did. 

All proceeds, including donations and entry fees, will go towards the Bret Vogt Memorial Scholarship Fund.

​​Payout will be for places first through third and are as follows:
  • 1st: 25% payout of total entry fees and Remembrance Plaque
  • 2nd:  15% payout of total entry fees and Remembrance Plaque
  • 3rd 10% payout of total entry fees and Remembrance Plaque
    • *For example, if 20 boats enter the tournament, the $2000 in entry fee's collected is to be split, $1000 to the Bret Vogt Scholarship Foundation and $1000 divided amongst to the top 3 boats (25%, 15%, 10%). 

There will also be a big bass spot included in the $100 entry fee for each boat. This year's prize is TBD. Last year's prize was a custom Bret Vogt Memorial Casting Rod. 

There will be a rules meeting at 6:45 AM the morning of the tournament.
 
All anglers will receive a Bret Vogt remembrance wristband.

Anglers can pay online through our paypal or bring money to the ramp the morning of. If bringing money the morning of please make sure to still sign up here and comment you intend to pay in the morning.
